A Letter to People Who Voted For Trump

Alan Zendell, March 19, 2017

Agnes Gyorgyey Summers came to the United States as a young girl from Hungary during the anti-Soviet uprising of 1956. She has spent most of her life as an American working to assure that people in need were cared for by some of the agencies whose budgets would suffer deep cuts in the proposed Trump budget. Yesterday, she posted this open letter to Trump voters. https://www.facebook.com/agnes.g.summers/posts/10211165728413362.

Remember when Donald Trump said he wasn’t going to take a salary? He just accepted his second paycheck.

Remember when he said Mexico was going to pay for the wall? He has asked Congress to appropriate the $25 billion of taxpayer money to cover costs.

Remember when he said he wasn’t going to go on vacation or play golf like Obama? 5 of the last 7 weekends he went on vacation and played golf, costing taxpayers $11.1 million each time.

Remember when he said he was going to use American steel to build these dangerous pipelines? Russian steel arrived last week for the Keystone Pipeline XL.

Remember when he said he wasn’t going to cut social security and Medicare? The Republican bill does just that.

Remember when he said that nobody on his campaign had any communications with the Russian government? Seven (7) of his people have now admitted they spoke and/or met with Russian officials…but only after they lied and got caught.

Remember when he said he was going to divest from his businesses? Changed his mind.

Remember when he said he was going to release his tax returns? Changed his mind.

Remember when he said he was going to drain the swamp of Washington insiders? His cabinet is filled with lobbyists, billionaires, as well as Big Oil and Wall Street executives, many from Goldman-Sachs. Yes, THAT Goldman-Sachs.

Remember when he said would defeat ISIS in 30 days? He doesn’t even have a plan.

Remember when he said that the Obamacare replacement would cover more people at lower cost? The GOP and 45 admit that the AHCA they are pushing will cover fewer people at a higher cost, but only after being called out by the CBO and the OMB.

If you voted for him, please hold him accountable to what he promised you – for all of our sakes.

  1. A. L. Kaplan says:

Thanks for posting this. I’ve seen the letter floating around on Facebook, but didn’t know the source.

Yesterday, Chuck Schumer slammed HRC for blaming everybody but herself for her loss for her Presidential bid for the Whitehouse. He basically said that HRC basically focused on Trump and did not deliver an original Democratic plan/vision for herself or the party. Senator Schumer also said that the Russia probe of the Trump administration is a waste of time and not getting the Democrats anywhere.

  3. jlexpert says:

“A Letter to People Who Voted For Trump” ignored the many reasons why HRC led the Democrats to a very expensive loss that standard diehard liberals have seemingly taken personally even though/despite the fact that the GOP garnered a convincing Electoral College winniing margin in the last Presidential Election. In these most troubled times, that have been made noteworthy by ascending global violance, the Clinton and the Obama Administrations went lame in regard to Libya, Syria, ISIS, Iran, North Korea, Africa, the Middle East, Russia, Gang Violence, Protection of our Borders, the Opiod Crisis, Red Lines/Lines in the Sand, the use of Chemical Weapons, et al. Was it the liberal point of view to ignore the first bombing of the World Trade Center, the Bombing of the USS Cole, etc.? Think about the media’s portrayal of Global Violence before Trump, and for example, how HRC and her team handled Benghazi or HRC’s handling of her Private Server or HRC’s/DNC’s disrespect for the other Populist Presidential Contender, Bernie Sanders, etc. Surely, it would have been revealing to have had the opportunity for the American people to read the 33,000 bleached emails. And, why has it become, to liberals, unpatriotic to put Americans and America first?

  4. jlexpert says:

This week President Trump gave political opponents reason to question the wisdom of having a candidate in office from a non-political background. The President’s first statement about the Charlottesville riot was inadequate and ambiguous and while his second pronouncements about the matter, that were delivered from the Trump Tower, were clearer and more appropriate, they were still late and therefore seemingly less adequate than they could and should have been as he had plenty of time to prepare for his follow-up remarks.

And his third attempt showed people the danger of voting for a narcissistic president with no moral center.

  6. jlexpert says:

With the release of HRC’s new book, it became even clearer that she has been and remains clueless about why many voters turned away from her when it came time to cast ballots. As a former Democrat who would rejoin the party, it still appears to me that the more Liberal party must get a grasp on the reality about the sentiments of HRC and the evolved type of poitics of her party that permitted her to move into the lead candidate’s spot virtually by entitlement alone. Homeland Security, good paying jobs, America First, a growing and strong economy, a revision of the failing healthcare system, et al, are resonating themes that are working for the GOP. These are not new political themes, but are obviously ones that need to be articulated about and remedied with the two party system being conversant and working together.
